Smoking ban 12 months on

The Isle of Man's smoking ban in enclosed indoor areas is a year old today, and those charged with enforcing it say it's been a great success.

There were concerns about the possible effect it would have on the Island's pub trade, but its impact hasn't been as significant as feared.

Tobacco Strategy Coordinator at the Department of Health and Social Security Anita Imberger says many people either gave up smoking before the ban was introduced, or have been given the motivation to do so after it came into force:
