by isleofman.com 1st April 2009
The chairman of a charity which helps children affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster will be returning to Belarus with humanitarian aid next week.

Norman Rivers, of Friends of Chernobyl's Children, will be travelling to the country with clothes, as well as cash for the families of the youngters who visit the Isle of Man for holidays.

The charity has been running since the disaster in 1986 and Mr Rivers will be visiting the city of Mogilev where many of the families live.

He says he will be taking as much as he can with him (play attached audio file):

You can find out more about the charity by visiting the website focc.co.im, or by ringing Norman Rivers on 625926.
