Drug and alcohol figures misleading - Malarkey

There's been staunch defence of the Chief Minister's Drug and Alcohol Strategy after a survey put the Isle of Man third in a European league table of teenage binge drinking.

The ESPAD findings showed alarming levels of binge drinking among youths, which has thrown the spotlight on the initiative tackling drug and alcohol issues on the Island.

But yesterday, Bill Malarkey MHK, the political member with responsibility for the drug and alcohol strategy, said the figures were misleading.

On Manx Radio's Sunday Opinion programme, he claimed the research behind it had led to flawed results:
