Bacchas A move closer

by isleofman.com 28th March 2009
Bacchas A remain the team to beat in the men’s Premier Division.

The reigning champions stayed top of the table and moved closer to retaining the title with a 3-1 success over Vikings A, courtesy of an Andrew Whiting double and a Karl Moore goal.

Connor Byrne netted the Vikings reply.

Valkyrs A still have slim hopes after a 4-0 victory over Ramsey A - Steven Crowe, Chris Caldwell, Rob Mylchreest and Gerry Quinn the scorers.

Goals from Ken Carney and John Bateson sealed a fine point for Vikings B in a 2-2 draw with Castletown A, while Mark Moyer and Tim Groves struck as Valkyrs B ran out 2-1 winners over Bacchas B, whose goal was scored by Danny Shuttleworth.

In the women’s Premier Division, Bacchas A are still facing relegation after a 2-0 defeat against Ramsey A – Karmina Kovanda and Lowri Turner the scorers – while Castletown A won comfortably against Valkyrs A.

Clare Palmer, Hannah Leece and Lois Watterson were on target in a 3-0 success.

Congratulations to Castletown C who clinched the Barclays Wealth women's Division Two championship with a 5-0 victory over Vikings C.
