France welcomes agreement with Isle of Man

The French government minister who signed a tax cooperation agreement in Douglas yesterday has made it clear it's important for his country as well as the Isle of Man.

Speaking through a translator, French Minister for the Budget, Public Accounts and the Civil Service Monsieur Eric Woerth said it was significant the ceremony had taken place ahead of next week's G20 meeting in London (play attached audio file):

Treasury Minister Allan Bell said the tax information exchange agreement highlighted a new collaborative working relationship with France and a shared position with regard to international tax cooperation.
