Forensic teams examine fire sites

by isleofman.com 25th March 2009
Forensic experts have been scouring the fire damaged property in Demesne Road, Douglas in which a man died in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Specially trained crime scene investigators, assisted by colleagues from Lancashire Constabulary, have also been looking for clues at three other houses nearby, where fires were started at the weekend.

Officers kitted out in forensic suits have been seen in the area at various times today, and plans to reopen Demesne Road to traffic have been put on hold, so that further work can be carried out to make safe the damaged building.

Police are apologising to residents who have been affected by the delay, but say public safety and the safety of those securing the fire site have driven the decision.
