Body recovered after fatal fire

The body of a man has been removed from a flat in Demesne Road in Douglas folllowing a fatal fire in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Members of the Fire Brigade wearing hard hats entered the building at about 7pm this evening (Tuesday) to remove the remains.

Inquiries are still continuing into the cause of the blaze.

There were also three other fires in surrounding streets in the previous 16 hours which are under investigation.
