Ban countryside ads, says MLC

by isleofman.com 25th March 2009
An MLC says he’ll continue to push for changes to the law to ban impromptu advertising in the Manx countryside.

Eddie Lowey asked a question on the subject in the Legislative Council yesterday, with particular reference to Blackboards Corner on the Castletown Road.

Clare Christian MLC said the Department of Local Government and the Environment didn’t have plans to tighten up regulations and Mr Lowey says it may now be the subject of a Tynwald motion.

He says he’s worried the practice could spread to other sites.
