by isleofman.com 23rd March 2009
A woman who lives near Demesne Road in Douglas has been describing the painstaking search being carried out by police, following yesterday morning's fatal fire.

She says officers have been scouring the area for clues in the streets and lanes close to the property where the blaze occurred

Police are treating the fire as suspicious and have been guarding two other houses in nearby Peveril Street and Clarke Street (play attached audio file):

There remains a heavy police presence in the area and Demesne Road was still closed at both ends this morning.

More information will be given at a media briefing at 2pm today.
