Ardern inquest to resume

by isleofman.com 23rd March 2009
An inquest into the death of a former Heron and Brearley boss will resume at Douglas courthouse this morning.

Coroner of Inquests Michael Moyle opened and adjourned the matter last month so further investigations could be carried out into the circumstances surrounding Eddie Ardern's death.

The 61 year-old's body was found near the bottom of cliffs, just south of Groudle beach, on the evening of February 12.

The discovery followed a lengthy search by the emergency services.

When the inquest opened last month it heard Mr Ardern died from multiple injuries, including massive blunt force trauma to the head and thorax.

Pathologist Christopher Clague said in his report Mr Ardern must have fallen from a great height.

Time set for inquest to resume: 10am.
