Vikings take Ladies' Premier title

In hockey, Vikings A clinched the Ladies' Premier League title, with an emphatic 5-1 win against Castletown.

Two goals each from Kirsty Hunt and Kim Carney, and one from Hayley Crowe, made it eight straight wins for the defending champions.

Second placed Ramsey also won, 3-1 against Phoenix, but Vikings are now seven points clear and can't be caught.

The scorers for Ramsey were Jo Quine, Sarah Breen and Julie Chesterson.

In the other Premier League match Cronkbourne Bacchanalians' youngsters recorded their first win of a difficult season, and hauled themselves off the bottom of the table.

A 4-2 victory over Valkyrs included goals from Emma Leeming, Emma Killip and Donna Harrison. Emma Faulkner and Amy Speed replied for Valkyrs.

In the Men's Premier League, leaders Cronkbourne Bacchanalians took a big step towards retaining their title when they beat second placed Valkyrs 3-2, to move three points clear.

The scorers for Bacchas were Andy Bridson, with two, and Karl Moore, and Greg Miller hit both goals for Valkyrs.
