Crews deal with unstable chimney

by isleofman.com 21st March 2009
A busy road in Douglas had to be closed this afternoon, while the Fire and Rescue Service made safe a large chimney stack which had become unstable.

Crews arrived in Church Road Marina at about 1.50pm and discovered there was a possibility of masonry falling from the roof area.

The road and surrounding area were cordoned off by police, as a precaution, while the stack was secured.

Fire crews used an aerial ladder platform to remove loose material.
