Man jailed for string of offences

by isleofman.com 20th March 2009
A man who admitted affray, assault causing actual bodily harm, criminal damage, theft and fraud has been jailed for eight months.

Jamie Christopher Hall, aged 18, of Osbourne Grove in Douglas assaulted Ian Moffatt on December 1 last year. He also smashed the window of his car, stole his phone and assaulted another male.

Then, between January 26 and 29, Hall stole DHSS invalidity vouchers and cashed them at Crosby Terrace post office.

High Bailiff Michael Moyle said the defendant showed no regard for anyone other than himself and twice breached probation orders.

Mr Moyle revoked a probation order made last year for theft and imposed a one month custody sentence, to run consecutively to an eight month term for the other offences.
