Man fined for repeatedly disturbing neighbour

by isleofman.com 20th March 2009
A man who made his neighbour's life a misery by continually playing loud music has been fined ?500 by the High Bailiff, Michael Moyle.

Twenty-three year-old Adrian Geoffrey Morton, of Rheast Barrule, Castletown admitted using provoking behaviour. A charge of harassment was withdrawn.

Inspector Andrew Turner, prosecuting, said Morton lived at a house in St Mary's Road, Port Erin at the time of the offence.

Police went there at 11pm on November 16, by which time a party had been going on for more than twelve hours. Morton was arrested.

The court heard that in the previous six months officers had attended the property 24 times because of noise and disturbance.

Imposing the fine, Mr Moyle said he was taking into account the fact Morton had spent a short time in custody. He also ordered him to pay costs of ?80.
