North west seaside town welcomes major redevelopment

Blackpool could soon be the place to go, with news a multi-million pound facelift is planned for the centre of the town.

It's costing somewhere in the region of ?220 million and will involve an area near the Blackpool North railway station and Talbot Road getting new offices, shops and restaurants.

Council offices will be relocated to the site and there are plans for a large supermarket.

Work is due to start in 2011 and news editor at Radio Wave Andy Mitchell says it should really spruce the place up:
