Counterfeit money found

by isleofman.com 15th March 2009
Police have issued a warning about counterfeit money in circulation on the Island.

Two counterfeit Manx ?5 notes were used in Douglas on Friday night.

The notes show Castle Rushen and have the serial number K655 655.

Officers say it’s unusual to find Manx notes being copied but the forgeries are easily identifiable by the lack of a water mark and the texture of the paper.

If anyone discovers any counterfeit notes, or knows who is producing them, they are asked to contact Police Headquarters on 631212.
