People in the south of the Island have been discussing issues relating to their local area this week.

It's part of a series of community events in connection with the preparation of their Draft Area Plan.

Officials at the Department of Local Government and the Environment say they are pleased with the level of community involvement and are encouraging residents to go along to next week's events in Castletown and Malew.

The meeting in Castletown will be on Tuesday, March 17 in the Civic Centre and the one in Malew
in Ballasalla Village Hall two days later.

This week meetings were held in Arbory and Port Erin.
