KSF depositor has mixed views on 'blackmail' letter

A Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander depositer is distancing himself from a letter threatening the Isle of Man, but says he understands the sentiments behind it.

Alistair Leece lives in Barbados and had his life savings in the bank.

A group of depositors with KSF have sent a letter to the Bishop giving "notice of intent" that the"dispossessed depositors" will investigate the financial affairs of ministers, members of the Legislative Council and the Financial Supervision Commission.

They claim to have engaged an investigative journalist to expose what it terms scandals and corruption and say if the depositors' cash is not repaid before the end of August, all the information they've gathered will be circulated globally.

Bishop Robert Paterson has described it as 'scurrilous blackmail'.

Mr Leece says he doesn't approve of the approach, but can see where the writers are coming from:
