'Sorry saga' over pelican crossing

Johnny Watterson’s Lane was due to get a new pelican crossing today, after MHKs debated it this morning.

In the House of Keys, Transport Minister David Anderson faced questions about the pedestrian crossing from North Douglas MHK John Houghton.

He said contractors had taken three attempts to get the pelican crossing right, and the work was part of a scheme by Heritage Homes.

Mr Anderson said the crossing was finished this morning, and he expected it to be in use later.

However, he called it a sorry saga:
