Bunscoill pupils learn about Digital TV switchover

Pupils at an Island primary school are taking the role of teachers, to help their grandparents with the switchover to Digitial TV.

A special Manx assembly was held at the Bunscoill in St John's this morning to mark the 100 days left before the Isle of Man goes digital.

Headteacher Julie Matthews explained to the youngsters what the switchover is all about, while the team from Digital UK introduced their robotic mascot, Digit-AL.

Mrs Matthews said the message - wise-up because there are only 100 days to go - got through loud and clear (play attached audio file, including pupils delivering the Digital TV countdown message in Manx and English):
