A site with "something for everyone" is how Roy Tilleard, the man behind the ?13 million Callow's Yard scheme, is describing the development.

Around 100 jobs will be created, once the project in the centre of Castletown is completed in the autumn.

However, a phased opening is expected to start within the next two months.

On Agenda last night, Mr Tilleard outlined some of the features:

"What we have here is a hotel which will run with 28 apartments and houses, which will be used as service accommodation.

"We also have four entertainment areas, which is an arena around 30 metres by 12 metres, which will be used for roller skating, ice skating, music events, trade shows and so on.

"We have a function room which can take 120 people seated, we have a commercial gallery and an Archibald Knox visitor centre, we also have a club and in addition to that we have a significant amount of restaurants, coffee shops, a major food hall, on site bakery (and a) delicatessen."
