Coastguard responsibilities return to Island

A new emergency coastguard telephone system will go live in the Isle of Man later this month.

It will be based at the marine operations centre at the Sea Terminal in Douglas.

It's part of plans to hand back local responsibilities to Manx coastguards.

Transport Minister David Anderson says it makes sense to have the system set up here:
