MHK's concerns over planned benefit changes

An MHK hopes possible reform of the Island's social security benefit system is not simply a cost cutting exercise.

Onchan member Peter Karran is concerned about plans to make Income Support and Family Income Supplement more difficult to receive.

Under the proposals, people would have to work longer hours before the benefits kicked in.

Mr Karran will be asking a question on the subject in the House of Keys tomorrow:
