Martin explains late opening of TT beer tent

by isleofman.com 6th March 2009
The boss of Bushy's Brewery says it wouldn't be financially viable to accommodate a major charity concert on the traditional day during TT fortnight this year.

It follows the news that Manx Charity Aid's 12-hour concert won't be going ahead at the beer tent on the promenade on the Sunday before practice week.

Martin Brunnschweiler says the tent will be opening a few days later than usual, after running at a loss in the early part of practice week (play attached audio file):

An alternative date was offered by Mr Brunnschweiler but it wasn't considered suitable.

Anybody who can offer a venue for the 12-hour Manx Charity Aid concert is asked to email manxcharityaid@manx.net or ring Andrea Dentith, on 462660.

The annual Manx Charity Aid concert raises around ?10,000 for local charities.
