Local breeder critical of BBC over Crufts

by isleofman.com 5th March 2009
A dog owner and breeder from the Isle of Man is speaking out against the BBC's decision not to screen this year's Crufts, which starts today.

The ruling by the broadcaster follows concerns of "over-breeding" by some owners.

But Tanya Mackrell, whose Australian Silky Terrier is the current British champion in its class, believes most breeders who show dogs are responsible people.

She also says dogs shouldn't be the BBC's only concern (play attached audio file):

About 30 dogs from the Isle of Man have been entered for Crufts 2009.
