Island contingent prepares for Crufts

The Isle of Man is well known for its cats, but its dogs will be in the spotlight this week when they compete at Crufts.

Thirty dogs from the Island will travel across to the world’s best-known dog show which starts on Thursday.

The Island will be represented in various events and classes, but for the first time in 40 years the evnt won't be screened by the BBC, after the broadcaster refused to take part in a row about over-breeding and animal welfare.

Local owners and breeders Tanya Mackrell and Gemma Stockton say competing takes months of preparation:
