Commissioners hampered over TT

by isleofman.com 1st March 2009
Lezayre commissioners say they’re being stopped from offering traditional TT accommodation in the Village Hall because of new rules.

Although bikers have stayed during TT and Manx Grand Prix festivals for years, the board says the Department of Tourism and Leisure wants the building registered as a hostel.

The Community Hall in Sulby offers what commissioners term ‘indoor camping’ – but the DTL says each person must have a wardrobe, chest of drawers and raised wooden platforms.

Vivian Quane of Lezayre Commissioners says that’s impractical and will mean the end of vitisors staying there.
