Does Big Brother beckon?

by isleofman.com 27th February 2009
Is there a state-abase creeping through the Isle of Man thanks to our neighbours in the UK?

That’s the question posed by the Positive Action Group at a public meeting next week.

Marking the 60th anniversary of George Orwell’s 1984 – and in the midst of worries about privacy – the Island’s Data Protection Supervisor Iain McDonald will give a talk entitled ‘Does Big Brother Beckon?’

The event takes place at the Manx Legion Club in Market Hill, Douglas from 7.30pm on Monday, March 2.

Positive Action group chairman Roger Tomlinson says it's a topical issue.
