Star of stage and screen John Barrowman is set to appear at the Villa Marina for one night only in summer. Audiences at the show on 30th July will be treated to an evening of music and laughter in the company of the multi-talented entertainer.
As Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who, Barrowman (pictured) was such a favourite with viewers that his character was given a spin-off show, Torchwood, in 2006. A runaway hit, Torchwood went on to premiere successfully around the world; a third series appears on BBC1 this year.
In the meantime, Barrowman's myriad talents and charisma have gained him an increasingly high profile on primetime TV, from judging on the entertainment shows Any Dream Will Do and How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, to celebrity skating on Dancing On Ice, to memorable guest appearances on The Jonathan Ross Show, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, This Morning and the Royal Variety Show.
He has also distinguished himself in several film roles and a number of solo albums featuring popular selections from classic and contemporary musical shows; the perfect focus for his strong, emotive voice. In 2007, Barrowman released 'Another Side' and followed it up with a sell-out UK tour. Last November saw the release of Music, Music, Music, whose Gary Barlow-penned leading single 'What About Us?' was a huge chart hit.
A whirlwind of energy with an infectious passion for music, John Barrowman has proved consistently popular with live audiences and his Villa Marina show promises to be an unforgettable experience.
