'Exemplary' work of retired coroner's officer

The recently retired coroner's officer for the Isle of Man Constabulary has been given a prestigious award at a ceremony recognising contributions to the Island's police force.

John Collings picked up the RK Eason trophy at the annual event at the Sefton Hotel in Douglas yesterday.

The trophy recognises outstanding performance in all aspects of police work.

Mr Collings, who held the position for five years, was said to have carried out his work in an exemplary fashion.

He told Manx Radio he was delighted to receive the award:
