Castletown and St John’s are a step closer to the Premier League.

That’s after the two promotion favourites cemented their positions in CFS Division Two on Saturday.

Leaders Town destroyed Marown 7-2 at Crosby.

Marown led 2-1 at one stage but an Alex Crawley hat-trick and goals from Tony Duggan, Mike Edge, Karl Clarke and Lee Davenport sealed a fine win for Town.

The surprise package of the season, Ramsey Youth Centre, gave St John’s a scare but the westerners won 4-3 to maintain their unbeaten league record.

Richard Wynne, Mike Peace and Louis Finn were among the scorers for St John’s, with regular duo Mark Grotty and Martin Murphy joined by Glenn McGovern on the scoresheet for Youth Centre.

The prolific Dave Skillen hit five as Pulrose went on the rampage against bottom club Ronaldsway with an 11-1 win at Groves Road.

Doubles from usual goalkeeper Andy Glover, who was playing outfield, and Barry English added to the rout with Ben Cowin and Richard Sharman netting one apiece.

An Aaron Costain hat-trick inspired Foxdale to a 6-1 thrashing of the Police.

Willie Woods hit two and Steven Harvey grabbed the other with Darren Loader scoring the Police consolation.

Doubles from Jamie Corrin and Daniel Beggs-Stewart fired Douglas and District to an impressive 4-2 success at home to Malew with Keith Collister and Adam Drewitt on target for the southerners.

At Noble’s Park, Douglas Royal triumphed 5-2 at home to Braddan – Craig Dolman (two), Dan Beattie, Gavin Gawne and Ross McWhinnie the Royal scorers.

Braddan found the net through Carl Kenny and a Shane Larkin penalty.
