Bacchas win top clash

Champions Bacchas A showed why they won’t relinquish the title without a fight.

They defeated arch rivals Valkyrs A 2-1, courtesy of goals from Jamie Cox and Richard Le Page, to underline their intentions.

Greg Miller was the scorer for Valkyrs but it was Bacchas who claimed the points.

Vikings A hit six against their B side to maintain their title push.

Steven Crowe (two), Mark Dougherty (two), Julian Corlett and Connor Byrne scored the goals in a 6-2 victory with Ken Carney hitting both for Vikings B.

Ramsey A were in fine form as they ran out 5-1 winners against Bacchas B.

James Atchison (two), Ollie Webster, Andy Burrows and Keith Corkill were on target for the northerners with Danny Shuttleworth scoring the Bacchas consolation.

Castletown edged a seven goal thriller against battling Valkyrs B.

Richard McAleer (two), Sam Spooner and Sven Lindeque were the Town scorers with Matthew McLaughlin (two) and Vic Fearnes finding the net for Valkyrs B.

In the women’s top-flight, Kim Carney (two), Dani Coombes and Karen Faragher were the scorers as reigning champions Vikings A continued their march with a 4-0 success over Phoenix A.

Bacchas A and Ramsey A shared four goals with Jennifer Vernon-Browne and Sharon Pope on target for Bacchas and Jo Quine and Sarah Breen the Ramsey scorers.

Valkyrs A were 2-1 winners over Castletown, whose goal was scored by Kerry Kelly.
