Fatality motor shown to young offenders

by isleofman.com 15th February 2009
A vehicle involved in a fatal car crash has been shown to inmates at Jurby Prison to highlight the dangers of irresponsible motoring.

The Drive Safely initiative is targeting young offenders, particularly those who have committed traffic offences such as speeding or drink-driving.

The parents of the driver who died gave permission for the car to be used to teach others.

Home Affairs Minister, Adrian Earnshaw, hopes the shock tactics will prevent the prisoners re-offending.
