Police name man found dead in sea

Police have confirmed the body found in the sea by emergency services last night is that of Eddie Ardern, a former boss at Heron & Brearley.

A two hour search and rescue operation was launched off Onchan Head near Groudle, and Mr Ardern’s body was recovered at 9.30pm.

Ambulance staff, police, the coastguard, civil defence and Douglas lifeboat crew were all at the scene.

Police say the 61 year-old leaves three children and the coroner of inquests has been informed.
