Adoption expert to share her knowledge

More than 60 adoptive parents in the Isle of Man will learn how to help their children let go of the past today.

Holly Van Gulden is an expert on the subject and, as part of a lecture tour, has been invited over here by the Isle of Man Adoption Service.

At a day long seminar at Mount Murray, she will discuss research which shows how youngsters can be helped to overcome the effects of abuse and neglect.

Holly will also teach parents and carers effective techniques to help manage children's behaviour.

She says her aim is to offer a new perspective on adoption:
