'Treacherous conditions' lead to closures

by isleofman.com 9th February 2009
Snow has led to the closure of a number of roads on higher ground.

The Mountain Road was closed at about 3pm, due to the 'treacherous conditions'.

The Sloc Road, the Shoulder Road and Round Table Road all followed, within an hour.

The Emergency Services Joint Control Room is warning motorists to take extra care at the Rest and Be Thankful, on the coast road south of Ramsey.

At 6pm the hill was said to be passable with care, but some drivers had experienced problems.
