Manx Cricketers Gain European Selection

by isleofman.com 5th February 2009
Isle of Man and Crockbourne cricketer Max Stokoe has been selected to join the elite International Cricket Council Emerging Players programme.

The one week course will take place in Spain during March and is restricted to just twelve players.

There will be lengthy batting, bowling and fielding sessions, as well as a focus on fitness, gym work, swimming and yoga.

A further two Manx players have been selected by the I.C.C. to attend the European Centre of Excellence in Spain during April.

Daniel Hawke of St. John's and Cronkbourne's Alex Stokoe are amongst the squad of 26 picked for their high standards and potential.

And Andy Sewell is to attend a coaching course at the La Manga facility where he will work with some of the world's best.
