Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander depositors say they were less than impressed by Chief Minister Tony Brown when he appeared before a United Kingdom Treasury Select Committee this week.
There has been widespread criticism on internet forums, and comments left on online news stories have called his performance "weak" and "embarrassing".
Some have taken it further, choosing to write to him directly.
In his letter to the chief minister, Richard Carter tells him his comment about the Depositors' Compensation Scheme "serving us well" rang hollow.
Mr Carter says it may have served Mr Brown well, but so far none of the schemes proposed by the Manx government has done anything for the depositors.
He also criticises the Manx delegation for not using the hearing as an opportunity to set the record straight.
Mr Carter read part of his letter to Manx Radio:
"It is understood that, as politicians, there are political games to be played between yourselves and Her Majesty's Government, but the obvious bully boy tactics of HMG must be stood up to.
"Unfortunately, while you are playing games, people's lives are at risk and being lost due to your inactivity.
"Given the opportunities that you and your team of colleagues were given by the Treasury Select Committee to answer honestly the questions posed, it is incredulous that you did not have the courage to do so."
Manx Radio is waiting to hear back from Tony Brown, about his trip to London.
