Former bishop to have cancer surgery

The former Lord Bishop Noel Jones has been diagnosed with bladder cancer.

The 76 year-old has been admitted to a hospital in North Yorkshire.

He was the Bishop of Sodor and Man from 1989 until his retirement in 2003.

The Right Reverend Jones was diagnosed last week, and is expected to have surgery shortly.
