Community centre plan looking good

An MHK for South Douglas and his wife believe plans to develop a youth and community centre in the area have cleared their first hurdle.

Bill and Carol Malarkey, who is a councillor for Hills Ward, have gained permission in principle to develop on land, owned by Douglas Corporation, adjacent to the Anagh Coar stores car park and public house.

They believe, with proper support, such a facility would benefit the whole community.

Mr Malarkey (pictured) says much work has to be done, but an initial breakthrough has been made:
