Minister to sign important agreement today

The Manx Government will today sign a major tax information agreement which, it's claimed, will put the Island some way ahead of the opposition in the area.

Treasury Minister Allan Bell (pictured) didn't tell the Compliance Institute seminar at the Mount Murray yesterday who the agreement was with, but he had no doubt about its importance.

He said:

"I will be signing another one in London which will be quite a major coup for the Island.

"By doing so it has already taken us off another black-list, which was causing the Isle of Man some difficulty.

"There are a number of other tax information agreements which we have in the pipeline, which I expect to get signed over the next few weeks, which will leave us well ahead of any other country in the world."
