Former Olympic champion and world triple jump record holder Jonathan Edwards will officially open the Isle of Man Sport Institute later this year.

The facility is in its final days of construction and will be opening for candidates currently receiving Sport Aid support.

Mr Edwards will be on the Island for the opening on Thursday, May 21 and the visit has been announced by the Manx Sports Aid Foundation.

It's hoped prospective members of the Isle of Man Commonwealth Games team will make use of the facilities.
