Annual ploughing match this weekend

by isleofman.com 23rd January 2009
A winter highlight of the countryside calender takes place on Saturday.

The 71st Cronk y Voddy Ploughing match gets underway at 10.15am, at Ballakilmurra on the Poortown Road.

There will be all the usual classes, including vintage tractors and the ever popular horses, which this year will see a team from Ireland taking part.

A marquee will be open from 11am for refreshments and shelter if required.

The prize presentation, concert and supper will be at St John's Methodist Hall at 7.45pm.

Everybody is welcome to go along.
