Careers advice for teachers!

The Department of Education has put together a draft document on how careers advice should be taught in secondary schools in the Isle of Man.

Although the Education Act of 2001 requires teaching to contribute to careers education, up to now there has been no guidance for schools on what they should include, or how to deliver it.

Officials from the department will be consulting the public to see what it thinks.

On Talking Heads today, deputy head at Ramsey Grammar School Andrew Cole said it was important children received the right sort of guidance, to help them decide what they wanted to do:
