Students encouraged to be researchers

A leading cancer expert from the United Kingdom is hoping he has managed to persuade some Manx students to consider a career in medical research.

Professor Geoffrey Pilkington is a brain tumour specialist from Portsmouth University.

This week he has been talking to science pupils from King William's College and St Ninian's High School about finding cures for cancer.

Professor Pilkington (pictured) is worried not enough young people are interested in working in the field, and hopes his visit will encourage some students to consider following in his footsteps:
