Work begins on quayside apartments

The demolition of the former Riley's store at Quine's Corner in Douglas is underway.

The adjacent section of North Quay will be closed for a fortnight while the site is cleared, in preparation for the construction of apartments.

It's a private scheme and it's being undertaken within the regeneration area.

Manager of the Douglas Development Partnership Chris Pycroft (pictured) told Manx Radio what was going on (play attached audio file):
