KSF depositor goes on the attack

by isleofman.com 21st January 2009
The Isle of Man Government doesn't care about Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander's despositors, according to an angry account holder.

Sri Lanka resident Barbara Segal says she is disgusted none of her money has been recovered, nearly four months after the bank collapsed.

Eligible depositors can apply for a ?1,000 payout, following yesterday's approval by Tynwald of the Early Payment Scheme.

But Barbara, who cares for over 70 dogs, says it won't help her, because she needs to prove she can support herself financially to keep her visa.

She says the Manx Government is wrong to keep depositors waiting, and claims it has made mistakes and should own up (play attached audio file):

The government has stated on a number of occasions that the failure of Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander Isle of Man happened because of circumstances outside its control.
