Agreement close for Summerland scheme

The Department of Tourism is close to reaching an agreement with a developer for a multi-use leisure facility at the Summerland site.

Minister Martyn Quayle provided the information in Tynwald today, in response to a question from Peel MHK Tim Crookall.

Mr Quayle said he couldn't reveal any detailed information, but said the preferred developer was based on the Island and the scheme would include facilities for bowling, five-a-side football and a multiplex cinema.

Mr Quayle said there had been a shortlist of four potential developers, with two presenting to the department (play attached audio file):
