Transport museum is 'missed opportunity'

The chairman of the organisation which hoped to create a Manx vintage transport museum in a World War II hangar at jurby says he feels let down, following the government's decision to withdraw support for the project.

The Manx Transport Trust wanted to display around 25 vehicles in the complex, and had received backing from the Department of Tourism and Leisure to the tune of ?50,000 a year.

However, DTL Minister Martyn Quayle has decided the expendidure cannot be justified in the current economic climate.
