Economic climate should delay promontory

An Onchan MHK wants to know why the construction of a promontory into the sea at Ronaldsway airport hasn't been deferred or cancelled.

Peter Karran will be putting the question to the Chief Minister at this week's sitting of Tynwald and thinks a shortfall in revenue to the Treasury means the project shouldn't continue.

He also claims there are other external factors meaning the operation should be stopped or at least put on hold.

Mr Karran believes the project isn't really going to benefit the Island anyway (audio file attached):
